Last year, 204 Clubs nationally, registered to take part in the 2025 BIG Bowls weekend. Following feedback from participants Bowls England have decided to extended the success of the Bowls BIG Weekend and have launched the Bowls BIG Summer 2026!!!
Lots of Clubs fed back that whilst they saw benefits of an increased interested in bowls, they felt having the activities over just a Bank Holiday Weekend was restrictive for participants, and volunteers alike. So this year, there’ll be the opportunities for events all Summer long.
Bowls England are once again hosting the platform for clubs to register their interest and the Bowls Development Alliance will be coordinating lots of activities across the country.
By registering, your club will be able to access digital resources to use on social media and handy downloaded resources that you can use to advertise and promote events at your clubs.
Please use the link bellow to register your interest and help us to promote our sport in your own local areas.

Thank you to all those North Lancs and Fylde bowlers who took the time to come and join us at the BDA Roadshow held at Fox Lane Sports and Social Club at the end of February.
The day was well attended, and we had the opportunity to speak to bowlers from across our own and our neighbouring Counties sharing ideas about the things that are important to recruit and retain bowlers within our clubs.
The Bowls Development Alliance have kindly provided the information from the day so that we can share it with you all. There are several questions posed in the attached documents that would be worth discussing at your club committee meetings along with information about future events and useful hyperlinks to information about support and fund raising opportunities.
During the lunch break we were able to ask questions about green keeping and equipment from Henton & Chattell, the manufacturer of the Corbra Fortis lawn machinery displayed outside on the green, the rain even stopped long enough for us to explore the equipment available from Bowls Buddies and to try this out on the green.
Please do have a look at the attached documentation and feel free to contact any of the agencies listed or reach out to our County Development Office Steve Clamp.
