Just a quick reminder to all clubs planning to host an Open Competition, (i.e. a competition where players are invited who are not members of your club), that you must apply for an Open Competition Certificate, which is renewed annually with the BCGBA.
The cost is £10.00
The application form and payment details can be found on the NLFCBA website by clicking the link below:
Yes I know. I ordered an open cert many weeks ago for Tarleton and as yet have not received it. Regards,Linda Bailey.

Does this include where a club is used as a neutral green for cup matches arranged by the various leagues? Garstang Subscription Bowling Club are hosting a series of League Cup matches over the next few weeks and a League Presidents Day in the summer. Is such a certificate necessary or would it only be needed if the Club were to arrange and host an “open” competition independently of the leagues?

Hi John. The BCGBA Open Competition Certificate does not apply for League competitions or cup matches. You only need to have one if your club is running an open singles or pairs competition and it is open to entries from players who are not members of your club. Thanks Pete Harris County Secretary

This is not how I interpret the BCGBA 2022 Handbook (copy enclosed).
Under Item C, this fee is referring to clubs outside the Association.
Can you please explain further. Also why the price has risen from £6 to £10.
