Registration of New Players

The lifetime BCGBA registration & membership fee for new bowlers has increased to £15 (from £12) with effect from 1st May 2023. New Player Registration forms can be downloaded by visiting the NLFCBA website at Registrations of New Players and Clubs Completed forms and payments are to be sent to the County Registrar, Geoff Foy. Home match will be played at Brownedge Bowling Club (Bamber Bridge Catholic Club), Aspden Street, Bamber Bridge, Preston, PR5 6TA

Please come along and support our Senior Men’s team in their first home county match of the season. Bar, hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day. Car parking, entrance is free and match programme £1

The Away team will be playing at Alverston & Boulton Bowling Club in Derby. Places are available for spectators to travel on the coach with the team. Cost of travel is £5. The pick up points are Marton Institute (FY4 4DR) at 9:30am, followed by Oakenhurst Farm Brewers Fayre just off the M65 junction 4 (Off Riversway Drive), Eccleshill Rd, Lower Darwen, Darwen BB3 0SN, at approximately 10am.

Ben will demonstrate how it works, show you how to get started and answer any questions you might have.

Plus, hear from Steve Clamp at Philip Wright Crown Green Bowling Academy who has used the platform to generate over £1000!

EasyFundraising is free to use and is trusted by 190,000 good causes around the UK, including bowls club, churches, community groups and charities.

This is a reminder that affiliation fees are due for the 2023 season. Affiliation forms need to be completed and sent along with the payment to the County Financial Officer. COMING SOON! THE £6300 RIBBLESDALE CLASSIC 2023

The Ribblesdale Classic is back for 2023 and has a record prize fund this year. With £6300 in total prize money on offer and £1200 to the winner it is currently the largest prize money on offer for a competition with 128 entries in the sport!

This event, now in its fourth year, is taking place at Ribblesdale Wanderers Cricket and Bowling Club, Clitheroe in the picturesque Ribble Valley. The competition has a who’s who of bowlers with many of the games elite coming to the Ribble Valley to try win this years competition. 

Fancy coming to watch? It’s one of the best competitions in the sport and needs YOU, as one thing the competitions success is determined on the number of spectators it attracts. It’s great to get big crowds watching and supporting events like this and creating a brilliant atmosphere. It would be great to see so many of you at this years event once again. Attracting bowlers locally and nationally the competition standard will be superb once again.

When is it?

Qualifying gets underway on Saturday 15th April at 11am, when the first of eight qualifying sessions takes place. Then after the 8 qualifying sessions it is the Finals Day, when the 16 qualifiers battle it out to win the title, the trophy and the £1200 first prize. Below is the dates for this years event and it would be great to see you especially on Finals Day! (Sunday 28th May 3.30)

Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Singles Competition

Entries are now being taken for this years Veterans Singles Competition to be held at Fulwood Bowling Club, Preston on Saturday 17th June 2023 at 10am

The competition is open to both male and female players (no home bowlers) aged 60 years and over. All games are 21 up off 3.

North Lancs & Fylde County team Champions, Hoghton will be competing at the BCGBA World Championships this Sunday 19th March at Spen Victoria Bowling Club, Cleckheaton, Yorkshire.

Our other County team representative at the World Championships, Parkfield Labour (Winners in 2016 & 2018), will be playing their first round game on Sunday 9th April.

Good luck to both teams.

North Lancs & Fylde CBA are now in receipt of the 2023 BCGBA Handbooks. Regional District Chairman & their reps will be helping to distribute these to affiliated clubs over the next few weeks

Open Competitions

Just a quick reminder to all clubs planning to host an Open Competition, (i.e. a competition where players are invited who are not members of your club), that you must apply for an Open Competition Certificate, which is renewed annually with the BCGBA.
