North Lancs & Fylde vs Cumbria – Sunday 6th July 2025
In the final match of the season, North Lancs & Fylde took on Cumbria as they looked to end the season with a win. The home match was played at St.Andrews Bowling Club in Burnley. Cumbria brought a strong away side, which resulted in them winning 8 of the 12 games and taking the aggregate chalks by +11.

The Away leg at Roose Bowling Club, Barrow-in-Furness, saw Cumbria win three of the first four games, but the North Lancs & Fylde team put in a battling performance winning 6 of the last 8 games, to win the away leg aggregate by +7 chalks.

Unfortunately the away leg win wasn’t enough to overturn the loss at home, with Cumbria winning the match aggregate by the close margin of +4 chalks.

North Lancs & Fylde v North Midlands – Sunday 1st June 2025
In the second match of the season, North Lancs & Fylde were looking to bounce back after defeat in the first game against the reigning County Champions, Warwick & Worcester. The away travelled to the The Lime Tree Park Club in Coventry. On a small and tricky green the team managed to come away with 5 winners but lost by 64 chalks. There were some good good wins from Terry McMullan, Dave Walker, Lyndon Carr and Brian Morgan, but the overall Player of the Match award at Coventry went to North Lancs’ Rob Houghton. Many thanks must go also to the teams travelling support! The home team played at the Layton Institute in Blackpool. With 6 wins each for both North Lancs and North Mids, the aggregate was extremely close with North Lancs winning by +1 chalk, which was not enough to win the overall match, losing by 63 chalks. There were good wins and performances from Rob Swift and Jonathan Lacey.


North Lancs & Fylde v Warwick & Worcester – Sunday 4th May
In the first County Match of the season the North Lancs & Fylde team took on last years reigning BCGBA County Champions & Crossfield Cup Winners, Warwick & Worcester. The home match was played at the Lonsdale Club in Preston on what was an excellent playing surface. The sun came out and there was a good crowd in attendance to support the home team. Despite some spirited performances from North Lancs & Fylde we lost by 49 chalks to a very good team. There were some stand out performances from Josh Iddon (Home team Player of the Match) and Alan Hodson Jnr, who kept the crowd well entertained.

The away leg was played at The George Bowling Club in Oldbury. The home team were just too strong from the NLF boys winning by 80 chalks. There was a great performance and win by Gary Cochrane who came into the team as a late reserve.

The overall match result was a Warwick & Worcester win by 129 chalks
