Sunday 5th May – Cheshire v North Lancs & Fylde

Match Report:

A fantastic 2nd half rally at Frenchwood almost saw NL&F over the line against Cheshire in a nail biting finish. Winning by 22 at home, but narrowly losing the match overall by 9 chalks.

Some excellent home performances with the home team Man of the Match being awarded to Brian Morgan.

Thank you to everyone who attended, marked and helped out. Special mention to Frenchwood Social Club for hosting and to Mark Simpson & Steve Edwards for getting the playing surface in good order after months of rain.

Sunday 2nd June – South Yorkshire v North Lancs & Fylde

Home Match: Guys Thatched Hamlet, St. Michaels Road, Billsborrow, Preston, PR3 0RE

Match Report:

North Lancs & Fylde exit this year’s competition in the group of three. Having already lost a close match to Cheshire in round one, opponents South Yorkshire produced a dominant display to get their campaign up and running with a 68 chalk victory. Many thanks to Owd Nells Tavern for hosting the home match. An excellent venue, fantastic conditioned green and big crowd were in attendance.

Congratulations to an excellent home Man of the Match, Mike Jackson and to our four debutants. There were also great performances at home from Paul Howarth along with the winning machines, Rob Houghton and Brian Morgan in the away match.
