Sunday 18th August 2024 – BCGBA Ladies County Championship Semi-Final – North Lancs & Fylde Ladies v Greater Manchester Ladies

MATCH RESULT:

North Lancs & Fylde Ladies were using Moor Park Sports and Social Club in Preston as their home venue, and produced some strong results early in the match. Over in Greater Manchester, at Springhead Sports and Social Club, the green was playing very tricky on the big downhill edge, and the Greater Manchester Ladies were using it to their full advantage.
After the first eight games, North Lancs & Fylde had a slender 7 chalk lead….but the tide was about to change in the middle four. At Springhead, the Greater Manchester Ladies took control to gain a 43 chalk lead and, despite some great performances late on at both venues, it proved to be an insurmountable lead. At the close of the games, Greater Manchester Ladies came out triumphant by 16 chalks.

Sunday 19th May 2024 North Lancs & Fylde Ladies v Cheshire Ladies

North Lancs and Fylde Ladies started their campaign on Parkfield Labour Club, and delivered a dominant home performance with 11 winners and an aggregate win of 46 chalks. This said, it was the performance at Parkside Bowling Club that saw North Lancs and Fylde come out on top, with their away team beating a good Cheshire home team by 27 chalks. Two points for North Lancs and Fylde with an aggregate win of +73 chalks.

Sunday 16th June – North Lancs & Fylde Ladies v Merseyside Ladies

North Lancs and Fylde Ladies kept up their excellent start and unbeaten record this season winning both home and away legs and the match overall against Merseyside Ladies by 88 chalks. This now sets up a mouth watering July clash with North Derbyshire to decide the winners of Section 4 and a place in the Semi-Finals. During the afternoon, North Lancs and Fylde celebrated Deborah Watters on achieving her 100th Cap for the team – congratulations to Debbie.

Sunday 21st July – North Lancs & Fylde Ladies v North Derbyshire Ladies

In the ‘winner takes all’ final game in Section Four, North Lancs and Fylde Ladies were up against North Derbyshire Ladies, with both teams being unbeaten in 2024. After 24 games, it was the ‘Bucket and Spade Brigade’ that came out on top with a 25 chalk win over North Derbyshire. Well done team! North Lancs & Fylde will now play Greater Manchester in the Semi-Finals in August.
