North Lancs & Fylde County Pairs

This years end of season County pairs was played on Saturday 11th October at Longton VM. With both greens use and a large of entry, the competition went on well into late evening. The competition was won by the 2023 winners and pairing of Simon Coupe & Matt Nelson.

Losing Semi-finalists Andy Graham & Brian Morgan and Peter Hawkes & Michael Coupe.

NLF County Pairs 2025 Winners: Simon Coupe & Matt Nelson

This years County team competition (Semi Finals & Final) was held on Saturday 20th September at the Crown Hotel Bowling Club, Garstang on a very wet autumn day. Despite the challenging conditions, there was some very competitive bowling with two new teams contesting the final in Hambleton and Lostock Hall. With some close games, Hambleton triumphed winning by 20 chalks. Both teams will now go on to represent the county at the BCGBA British Club Team Championship in March next year.

Robert & Mags Swift won this years NLFCBA Centenary Mixed Pairs competition and for the 2nd time at St. Annes Ex Servicemen’s Club. They defeated Phil McVittie and Jackie Bird 21-11 in the final. Many thanks to Ex Servicemen’s for hosting the event and providing an excellent bowling surface for the players.

2025 Winners Robert & Mags Swift with NLFCBA President Brian Swift

John Ward was the winner of the North Lancs & Fylde County Bowling Association Jack & Jean Isherwood Vets Merit 2025.
Runner up Billy Gaskell and Steve Atkinson also qualified for the National finals in Shropshire.
Unlucky to Steve Edwards the losing semi-finalist who missed out after a playoff.

Paul Wilson defeated Stuart Tipping in the final to win the 2025 Merit for the 4th time. Jonathon Lacey also qualified for the BCGBA Individual Merit Finals after beating Steve Atkinson 21-20 in the 3rd place play-off game. Many thanks to the members of Feniscowles for their hospitality and for hosting this years finals day and thanks to everyone who competed in one of our biggest entries for many years.
