2024 Competition Results

County Pairs 2024 was held held on Saturday 5th October at Hambleton Bowling Club. With 40 pairs entered from around the county, there was some high quality bowling all day on a superb playing surface.

The competition was won by Owen Jackson & Sam Patterson, making it their third win in this competition. Runners up were John Ronson & Ben Duke. Losing semi-finalists were Tracey Livesey & Michael Worden, and Luke Jolly & Steve Singleton.

A big thank you to the members of Hambleton for their hospitality for providing refreshments throughout the day, and everyone who helped mark scorecards and measure.

Centenary Mixed Pairs 2024 – was held at Wesham Bowling Club on Saturday 27th July. The winners were the father and daughter partnership of Darren James & Emily James who repeated their feat of last year with back to back wins.
Losing finalists were Gill Nelson & Phil Wood.
Losing semi-finalists were Steve Clamp & Claire Russell and Robert Swift & Mags Swift.
Many thanks to Wesham Bowling Club for their excellent hospitality, the competitors and the many spectators who turned out to support the day.


Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Merit 2024 – was held at Read Bowling Club on Friday 7th June 2024. Congratulations to Ross Hatzer on winning the competition. Ross beat Steven Bolton 21- 13 in the final. Both now go on to represent the County at the BCGBA National Finals on Wednesday 3rd July (start 10am) at Prees Cricket & Recreation Club, Brades Road, Prees, Shropshire

Hugh Hornby Senior Individual Merit 2024 – was held on Saturday 25th May at Fleetwood Cricket Club. The competition was won by Lee Longland who played excellent all day, defeating last years winner Simon Coupe in a close last sixteen game to 19, and then following this up with wins against Neil Bennet in the quarters, Lyndon Carr in the Semi-Finals and Matt Nelson in the final.

Lee along with Matt Nelson and third place play-off winner, Lyndon Carr will represent the County at the BCGBA Senior Individual Meri Competition Finals “All England” on Saturday 27th July at Pennfields Bowling Club Staffordshire. A big thank you to Fleetwood Cricket Club for hosting the finals day, and also to Carleton, Frenchwood, Luneside, and Read Bowling Clubs for hosting the qualifying events.

Champion of League Champions – Saturday 6th April 2024 at Lancaster Cricket & Sports Club, Lune Road

Our first County competition of the season was held at Lune Road Bowling Club. The competition comprised of 35 League Merit Winners from across the county. There was some excellent competitive bowling all day despite the challenging blustery conditions. The Final was a repeat of last years Hugh Hornby Senior Individual Merit Final, with Simon Coupe again victorious against Scott Taylor. A big thank you to Lune Rd for hosting the event and supplying the refreshments, and for everyone who helped out to make it a successful day.
